Nari Ward: Sun Splashed, ICA/Boston, April 26–September 4, 2017

Nari Ward is celebrated for his complex sculptural and installation-based works comprised of found material with symbolic potency. Exploring the range of cultural spaces in which he functions, Ward’s work engages issues related to citizenship, migration, historical and cultural memory, democracy, and power. Nari Ward: Sun Splashed (originally organized by Diana Nawi for the Pérez Art Museum Miami) was the largest survey of the artist’s work to date. (Coordinated with Ruth Erickson)
